I agree about the robot dance. I'm a little freaked out by her face when she poses with her hands in the air though (0:30 and again later)..

It's amusing that there is a hit cover of this song from 1987 that is incredibly 80's in an entirely different way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnejLmQGYhg

Ha, yeah, such a crazy-stare. She should have a crazy-eyed stare-off with Mad Max Lite.

Yeah, I've got that version on our "Ultimate '80s Playlist" as well. Musically, it's way more up my alley, but that music video has a distinct lack of neon pink, blue, and bouncing tits.

I don't really like that song.  It's too old and isn't it a little bit obscure?  Try reviewing something that people have heard of before!!!

I always thought that other video was weird.  Something just didnt sit right with me.  Thanks for uncovering the truth.

Whoa, thanks! I'll have to update the original blog post now. I see most of the video links need to be updated.

You're welcome! I'm an info junkie...give me 24 hours or less and I can usually find whatever I am looking for.  Now I turned that skill in making money online!  ;)

I stumbled on this forum,...

The dancer in the Funkytown video is a real singer from the band Doris D and the pins. She had a minor hit in Europe with the song Shine Up https://youtu.be/htjM8vbMfUs

Weirdly popular enough to get a TV special  https://youtu.be/kb9kp5DztEc

Very strange that she ends up lip singing the Funkytown song.

Thanks a lot, fil. Your info led me to a Dutch wikipedia article that filled in some of the blanks. I've now updated this blog post.
