Man, those rhymes, can't top that. Most strangely ridgedly choreographed rap-off of all time too.

The part that gets me every time is the very end where the hat girl walks back to her bike, then turns around and says a final, "Top That." So fucking cringy. I love it.

It's way worse just a moment earlier where the guy in the pink shirt/vest swings around and crosses his arms (looking more like he's about to caress himself instead of striking a remotely believable hip hop pose) and the guy in the aqua shirt is just a half second off on his choreography and is still looking at the other actor for his cue.

Adam I've been getting into vinyl, know any synth-based stuff that translates real well to that?

Bands like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Jan Hammer (Miami Vice guy), etc. were all recorded analog with analog synths and would be considered probably the best candidates for owning on vinyl. In the end though, the sound quality isn't discernible between vinyl and digital, so I would just look at what albums you really like and pick them up on vinyl - it's the novelty of collecting and the process of playing them that, to me, makes a record collection worthwhile.

I intended him to speak with a kind of "spooky" font, but we haven't yet found one we're satisfied with.

This is totally the font: http://www.dafont.com/tango-macabre.font

God dammit.

Looks like you need to redo the whole comic.

Again.

No detail is too small is it?

Unlike Jessica, I wasn't too concerned about Connor's name. After all, we could just say that his parents moved to the US from Ireland shortly after Connor was born. Problem solved. But I'm also fine with Connor being his surname. Now I just need to come up with a reason that his friends often call him by his last name instead of Kyle.

I love how Eddie is suddenly hot on poses, he can't even throw a star sideways without striking one (and nearly killing that poor animal).

He's Kyle Connor II, so he goes by his last name because "[his] dad's Kyle".

This is from 1990, but it's awfulness warrants its sharing.

Satan Ninja 201X takes place in the Running Man universe or whatever equivalent 80's dystopian future.

Given we're in the 198X universe, you'd have to parody the name Seven Doors of Death if this is in America - it didn't get a released as the Beyond in the US until the mid-90's.

Seven Whores of Death - I just came up with Sam's next terrifying porn adventure.

You'd have to write that into the story though. Like a frame where the police find the dead ninja and one cop asks "Why do his eyes look that way?" and then another replies with "That's what your eyes look like after you've gazed into Hell. Haven't you seen The Beyond?". The first cop then says "No, I haven't.". You could even make him look like me, since I too haven't seen The Beyond..

Except all movies/video games/bands and such in the 198X-verse have to have a parody name that is usually another way to say the same thing (e.g. New Kids on the Block becomes Fresh Teens on the Street), or the parody name references the content of the original (e.g. Caddyshack becomes Gopher Golf). So The Beyond would become something like The Afterlife (if I were feeling lazy) or perhaps Hellgate Hotel.

Given we're in the 198X universe, you'd have to parody the name Seven Doors of Death if this is in America - it didn't get a released as the Beyond in the US until the mid-90's.

This. I need this.

I'm thinking of writing a novelization of this music video. It's the only way to truly do this story justice.

It drives me crazy, I know I played some Ninja beat'em-up with the Ninja Gaiden Game Over screen, but it's a giant spike being lowered into the character's chest. I had played it at some rest stop - apparently Fatal Fury 3 has one similar, but it didn't look familiar when I watched it.

It's amusing that there is a hit cover of this song from 1987 that is incredibly 80's in an entirely different way: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnejLmQGYhg

I enjoy the reviews of 80's things - are you guys thinking about having a regular schedule of when those are posted?
