Interesting. I've never heard of Jenny Everywhere until now, but then again I'm not very knowledgeable about comics in general (especially webcomics).

But anyway, our comic already has a huge cast of characters (many of which haven't been introduced yet). It's going to be hard enough finding room in our story to properly showcase each of them, so we wouldn't want to clutter things up even more by bringing in outside characters like Jenny.

Yes, perhaps the ninjas saw Toxic start to do her clothes-hating routine and decided these babes doing a strip-off would be a perfect way to keep Ninja Commander distracted from their failure to find the glove.

Though I think Toxic would have quite the advantage in a strip-off, since Jennifer doesn't strike me as the striping type.

I can totally see Eddie doing something like an 80's style anti-drug PSAs: "Being a Satan Ninja is totally rad.  But do you know what's not totally rad?  Drugs.   Drugs are totally bad for you and they can totally mess up your life and they can totally kill you.  Now I know that everybody wants to be totally rad, but doing it with drugs isn't just wrong, it could be dead wrong.  So don't blow it.  Don't do drugs.  If you're doing it, stop it.  Get some help.  Satan Ninja 198X wants you to give yourself a chance.  A chance to find out all the wonderful things you really can be, and so do I."

Full disclosure: I lifted some of that from Pee-wee Herman's crack cocaine PSA as well as Michael Jordan's anti-drug PSA.

Heh, I considered doing an anti-drug parody when we were shooting those live-action promos. Maybe next time.

Pee-wee seems like an odd choice to do an anti-crack PSA. I doubt he had a significant number of crack-heads among his little kid fanbase, and how many genuine crackheads would give up their vice of choice simply because fucking Pee-wee Herman asked them to.

As for the Michael Jordon PSA, I don't know if I've ever seen him with hair before.

Valery “Viper” Viperelli gets a job investigating government corruption(he knew the territory! )

"Psycho Sam" is currently residing in the state nut house!!!

Stanley "Trance" Sheen heads up his own robotics firm and eventually buys out the Pizza Wizard franchise.

Dean Slater is appointed ambassador to Guam(at least that's what he says...)

Corey Cusack is River City Police commissioner

Eddie McCarthy has dropped off the radar and hasn't been heard from since...!

Heh, very interesting. Some odd choices there, especially Heather, Corey, and Dean. Anyway, I can't promise all these characters will survive 198X, let alone make it to 200X.

198X has an obvious pronounciation, but how would you say 201X? Twenty-ten-X? Two thousand X-teen?

Yeah, it doesn't really work, does it? Some people have enough trouble when they try to read Satan Ninja 198X for the first time, until they realize the 198X refers to a year. I don't think many people would look at Satan Ninja 201X and correctly infer that 201X is supposed to be a year.

To answer your question, I'd go with... fuck, I don't know. I wouldn't do it.

On a related note, the original Megaman games take place in the year 20XX, which I always pronounced as either twenty-ex-ex or two-thousand-ex-ex. I was so confused the first time I heard Jessica pronounce it as twenty-ex-tee-ex.

I'd like to see you do the future according to what was thought up in the '50s and '60s.  They had some pretty wacky ideas such as jetpack mailmen and pogo cop cars.  Popular Mechanics had some pretty crazy ideas themselves such as personal helicopters and rooftop lakes.

Oh man, I don't think I'd be able to touch a retro-50s future setting in my works, as I feel Fallout already does it so well. And it's not like I could claim ignorance of Fallout, since I'm the lead writer of Fallout 2's most popular mod. I know the Fallout universe shakes things up by making it a post-apocalyptic version of a '50s and '60s retro-future, but still, the Fallout franchise is too close to my heart for me do to something so similar.

I totally didn't open the front page when I was at work and I totally didn't them close it immediately upon seeing the thumbnail (because I didn't have it open see?). Yes definitively among the most explicit pages so far, although Eddie's day dream is also a serious contender.

Well if you had done that, then it'd be a good thing that we keep our thumbnails safe for work.

But we're definitely going to push the envelope of explicitness before this issue ends...

The striptease act took me completely by surprise and then so did the kidnapping action. We can only guess at the motives of course, maybe they think it'll help them find that glove, maybe they need virgins to sacrifice (hah) or maybe ninja commander needs help finishing his ninja guy Ben game..?

I love how the ninjas just pop out and wordlessly snatch the babes, then pop back into the sewer. Such an efficient kidnapping, although they left a bunch of witnesses.

I guess that'll teach the punks to party right near a big ol' sewer entrance...

I know that Patrick Hyser is based off of Rick Moranis, but I could totally see Chris Parnell doing the voice of this character.  FYI Chris Parnell does the voice of Jerry Smith on Rick and Morty as well as Cyril Figgis on Archer.  It just seems to me that Parnell has a knack for portraying woebegone characters.

Like most modern things, we've never seen Rock and Morty, though my brother highly recommends it. But there's no way I can picture Patrick sounding like anyone except Mr. Moranis. It's too ingrained into my perception of him and even affects the way I write his dialogue.

I'm also curious to see what this secret battle will be like.  Will it be anything like Bloodsport?

We've now reached Sunday night in the comic, so this battle already happened. But perhaps we'll get to see a snapshot of it in a flashback panel or something. We considered showing that battle as it occurred, but we want to end this issue on a certain plot point and in order to get there, we have some key scenes to get through. This issue is already going to be pushing the limits of how big a single comic issue should be, so we didn't want to pad it out with scenes that aren't integral to the story.

Actually, I just now realized that Patrick's fight could be the subject of this month's Patreon bonus comic.

God dammn it I got beaten to the punch in referencing. But what can you do, I was on a university public computer when I first saw the update on Facebook.

Well, I gave away the Return of the Living Dead reference right in my original post, so nobody really got a chance to guess at it. I should avoid doing that in the future.

Yeah that's definitely Stacey Q's best song (did you know that over the course of the 80s, she went from Q, to SSQ, to Stacey Q? True story).

She was the Pokémon of the '80s.
I remember being disappointed that none of her other songs sound very much like "Tonight."

Wow, that Toxic is a real Nasty Girl!.

Oh man, Vanity 6 is awful. Love the outfits though. For anyone who doesn't know, Vanity, the singer of Vanity 6, was Prince's girlfriend in the early 80s. She was supposed to play a character heavily inspired by herself in his film Purple Rain, but they broke up before filming began and Prince replaced her with another actress. Must've been awkward for Vanity to watch that. Anyway, much more importantly, Vanity was the female lead in the awesome mid-80s martial-arts action movie The Last Dragon. As far as '80s movies go, the tone of The Last Dragon might be the closest match to SN8X. We highly recommend it.

Also, what's the name of that song from Return of the Living Dead?  I've never seen the film so I'm pretty curious.

If you dig '80s horror comedies at all (like Evil Dead 2), then I highly recommend Return of the Living Dead. It might be Jessica's favorite '80s movie. I actually bought her a new blu-ray edition of the movie for her birthday. The song I'm talking about is easily my favorite song by Stacey Q (though the band was called SSQ at the time): "Tonight (We'll Make Love Until We Die)."

Return of the Living Dead fans will probably find this scene a bit familiar. I was thinking of showing some lyrics from the song that’s blasting from Sleaze’s stereo, both to draw more attention to the fact that music’s playing and to parody the song from the similar scene from Return of the Living Dead, but Jessica didn't want to clutter the page up more with unnecessary words.

As for where the punks are, well I figure it’s some semi-remote hangout area they use for doing drugs and partying. Too bad it happens to be so close to a sewer entrance...
