I never got round to installing one. Every time I think about doing so I get distracted by amazing videos, such as this one..

Ended up watching quite a few of his videos. Impressive stuff. Reminds me of Vomitron, who did a super rad album of NES game themes covered as metal songs. Here's his take on the Double Dragon theme, which I used a bunch when I was editing the first short movie I ever made, Mega City Dragons.

Love it, including the "No NES for the wicked" slogan. I used to play DD (II) mostly on my game boy because I didn't have a NES, I must've finished that game about a dozen times, great fun!

I'll have a look at the Mega City Dragons when I get home from work. There's a good chance my boss will love it as well but I don't want to risk it on my second week..

The creepy face-paint and stash are such contrast, it adds something... a few sprinkles on the vanilla. ;)

Blue mustache sprinkles are the worst kind of sprinkles.

If I could get blue moustache sprinkles, for example on my ice cream, I would. Hell, I hardly ever eat ice cream but I'd reconsider that if I could get blue moustache sprinkles..

I think I picked the right video for making my point when people prefer the ads to the footage itself..  8)

I don't think I've ever seen an add on YouTube. I'm one of those assholes that use an ad-blocker browser plug-in. But hey, we don't have any adds on our site, so no one can say I'm a hypocrite.

Ah, got that right then. Maybe I have to sit down and watch this a bit more..

Somebody get him the fuck out of here

Hey I said they made the right choice right? Talking about quoting out of context jeez.. ;)

Sorry, I've got a persona to maintain! :)

And you're doing it rather well, using tried and tested methods.. :)

I, on the other hand, did not see this coming at all. Perhaps I was just expecting another bad ass like Viperelli? I love it though..

Good! We wondered how many readers might get pissed off that this badass space bounty hunter turns out to not only be a girl, but an anime fox-girl. With an adorable pink sidekick.

Not pissed off, pleasantly surprised. You're truly presenting us with a hors d'euvre of 80s culture even though I'm totally unfamiliar with 80s anime. My limited exposure was probably due to my growing up in the Netherlands, although we did get Transformers..

I like how you guys try to obscure her tits instead of, say, not drawing them and come up with a lame explanation later. Alternatively you could have not given her enormous boobs but that would be uncharacteristic for both this comic and the anime genre..

Hey, not every chick in our comic is stacked. Why, just look at... uh, Tina! Yeah. See? Tit equality. But yeah, it certainly would have been easier if we hadn't made Kit one of the most boobacious characters in a roster that already skews top-heavy, but we've always imagined her to be over-the-top sexed out.

But actually, huge tits weren't so ubiquitous in '80s anime as they became later. They weren't unheard of (Fujiko Mine from Lupin III had been boobing it up on television since the '70s), but they were surprisingly rare. It seems the general style of the time favored girls with very petite frames and modest busts, I would guess in large part due to the extreme popularity of the character Lum from Urusei Yatsura. Even characters that were meant to be busty "in-universe," like the Dirty Pair, were drawn with boobs that would seem rather small by today's anime standards.

That's right. I'm like a sage of anime tits.

Ignoring the subtle plagiarism there (quote cock-up?), you made quite a study of this subject. It shows a level of dedication to fun bags the comic that few writers can match. You're right though, Tina doesn't have huge knockers. This proves that they're not a main topic in SN8X at all..  8)

Anyway, I don't see much anime but from what I've seen breasts are usually water melon-sized..

Did I mention I like the name Turboceptor? I keep being distracted from this for some reason..

And here I was thinking the '90s was the age of clowns and weirdos).

My favorite part was the YouTube ad that played before it started, which was for Woolite Dark laundry detergent. Seemed oddly fitting considering how many black screen print tee shirts were in that... weirdass video. Woolite Dark: Wash after wash,  rave after rave, your Marvin the Martian tee's still like new!

I'm speechless, what was that exactly..?

Darwick resembles a Carebear though.

Quote from: wikipedia
Each Care Bear comes in a different color and has a specialized insignia on its belly that represents its duty and personality.

I guess Darwick's duty is to boldly go where no care bear has gone before then? ;)

We tried not to show Kit (the fox-babe) from angles that would make her extremely feminine form too obvious. The big utility belt on her bounty hunting costume was to help hide her tiny waist, and of course the big bulging chest armor was to obscure her tits.

I like how you guys try to obscure her tits instead of, say, not drawing them and come up with a lame explanation later. Alternatively you could have not given her enormous boobs but that would be uncharacteristic for both this comic and the anime genre..

Shit. I couldn't make it too far into that video. So painful.

I know, I picked the worst video I could think of.

Nice costume, I guess the stuff in the background is how you guys decorate your house?

Sort of, although the rest of our living space isn't quite as gothed up as that mantle above the fire place.

The hair-moustache is a nice detail, you should keep it for Movember..  8)

Fuck! Don't encourage her!

"You can click the image to see a larger version if, uh, you're into that sort of thing."

If by that sort of thing, you mean Jessica's amazing Halloween boobs at a higher res... pff, who's NOT into that sort of thing? ;P

Sadly, even Jessica's awesome tits are totally negated by the King Diamond face-paint and blue mustache. Thus, Halloween was a total bummer for me.

I can see how a blue moustache and the face paint are a turn off, hope you didn't resort to drinking yourself silly there..

Does Veronigozer feature in Ghostbusties?

Veronigozer should feature in everything.

Aye, agreed. I just need to get over the fact that gozer is a slang term for a bloke in Dutch, making Veronigozer sound like a ladyboy.

The Krueger look suits Eddie well by the way, perhaps in an alternative universe he just flips out over all the embarrassment and goes on a killing spree?

Who's to say he won't flip out and go on a killing spree in this universe?

Good point.

We were originally going to have all of the characters dressed as slasher movie villains, but we didn't want to cover their faces with masks, so we broadened it to general 80s horror (or horror comedy). I was thinking Veronica could be the girl from Deadly Friend, since that's the only busty blonde 80s horror movie villain I could think of, but that character doesn't have much of a costume. Then Jessica came up with the Gozer idea, which is awesome.

Masks would just make it a series of drawings of the villains. You'd get a large guy wearing the Jason Vorhees mask (perhaps a Deanson Vorhees?) but it would still just be Jason. Veronigozer is indeed awesome, and much better looking than the original..

I managed to use burble in a sentence but I used it to describe a funny sound our new fridge makes every now and then so I cheated a bit. I was close to convincing my girlfriend to naming the fridge Burble though..

Now I'm just going to assume it's customary for Europeans to name their house-hold appliances.

Haha it would be funny to start this rumour. We don't really name everything, although her mother had a dishwasher they called Marie (not sure why). Come to think of it, we (as in, us two) do tend to give names to things that show characteristics similar objects don't show. That and cars, my girlfriend names cars but we don't have one at the moment.

We ended up naming the fridge Justus after a pet rat we used to have that made similar noises.

Perhaps we are a bit weird. Hopefully I'll be rich soon though in which case I'm upgraded to eccentric..

Jessica and I have a rule that once it's October, any movie we watch should be a horror movie. We watched a lot of them this year. Well, I would watch them and Jessica would half-watch them while doing art. I'm thinking of doing a quick review roundup of the movies we watched for my next blog post.

Too bad my girlfriend isn't really into this genre and the friends I used to watch this with didn't move to Glasgow with me. Perhaps they'll more to Cambridge once they hear how great the weather is..
