Didn't we get this post before? It rings a bell somehow.

Perhaps they're counting on the power of repetition to convince us?

That looks a lot better than the original! You're right the anatomy was slightly unrealistic, even for an alien. I guess it's all that pressure you put onto Jess into finishing the pages quickly?

Happy birthday, Minxy. You're probably the most bangable 4-year-old I've ever seen.

Although I agree with the sentiment, the word "probably" disturbs me a little.. ;)

Seriously though, awesome poster. This may be a comic hiatus but you guys are definitely not taking a break..

That bad guy is getting his arse kicked! Nunchucks reign supreme during this comic hiatus, love it.

How much longer do you have to work these crazy hours Adam?

I had to google that, I didn't know there was such a thing! Amazing what some people get up to, and his appearance is even more random..

Hahah, I'm glad this has prompted you to discover Buckethead, but that's actually not who inspired Jessica. After all, Buckethead didn't release his debut album until '92, so he's off limits as inspiration for our comic.

But still, Buckethead is awesome. I don't even care for most of his music, but I'm so fuckin' glad that dude exists.

Are you saying there's yet another chuck-wielding guitarist? I clearly don't get out enough if I miss all of these things..

The chuck-wielding was inspired by a different metal bassist, but I'm not sure if Jessica wants me to divulge who.

Well, inspired by a chuck-wielding metal guitarist, actually. I'll say that much.

I'm hoping someday you guys actually write music for the titles.

Haha, oh man, that'd rule. We actually have talked about making music that ties into the comic at some point, so maybe we'll try and see if we could do a Demon Hammer song justice. I doubt we'd ever do an entire album though, as that'd be a huge undertaking.

I'd love to see (hear) that. For now I'm happy with a track list though.

Judging from where the comic seems to be going (I've been wrong before), I take it she's a real succubus then? Not just a well endowed woman with fake horns and wings?

I love how the guy in the back is a cross between Bruce Lee and Lemmy Kilmister (I'm referring to the moustache here).

Let me know if you ever want a guest blogger lol I'm sure my self and others would be interested in reviewing a horrible 80's movie for you

Heh, thanks for the offer. But I think Jessica and I are too big of control freaks to let someone else pilot our baby. For that same reason, I doubt we'll ever have guest comic pages (pages drawn by other comic artists), like many other webcomics sometimes have.

Yeah it would be tough to give up that control.  Though from some of the research I've done, you guy's may want to try guest blogging at an established site somewhere.  From what I understand it's one of the best ways to promote yourself and website.

It'd have to be by an established blogger though if you want to do it for promotional reasons..

Awesome today Santanninja.com is not blocked at work.  I'm happy now

Weird. I wonder why they reversed the block. That's great, though.

Well when it was blocked it had it listed under "games" so who knows.  I'm happy it's back I usually like to hang out on the forum especially if there is chatter, while I'm bored at work.

Sounds like the result of some automated scan. No human being would mark this as a games website. We did mention them a few times on the forum so maybe that inadvertently set off an alarm.

Weird. I wonder why they reversed the block. That's great, though.

Clearly they had a good look at the website and at themselves, asked themselves "what the hell is wrong with me!?" and then decided to leave Mich his access.

I just found out that starting tomorrow I'm going to be working 12-hour shifts every day for the next couple weeks. So I might not get a chance to write an article for the site for awhile.

Wow, good luck with that. Someone who used to take the same train home as me did that for 6 weeks but he looked like shit afterwards. I hope you get a few days off after that?

It's like a mailing list really, except that it saves you the trouble of sending emails around to a mailing list. Well, in theory anyway..

Ah, sounds nice. I'll have to look into it some more. It's just weird to me that when I click on our RSS icon, all I see is code gibberish, but our weblord assures us that is somehow normal.

It's XML code. If you feed the link to an RSS reader (I use Mozilla Thunderbird for email and RSS feeds) it'll present it into a more readable format. Often it'll even download the page and show it that way.

So for the first time today I read the comic as a whole.  I had already of course read issue one a couple of times but it's been a while.

All the points that I had seemed slow to me reading week to week went by very fast and flowed well.  I had especially thought the whole lunch and walk home stuff took forever going week to week, but now as a whole I did not get that feeling.

Being I'm not a "comic" guy and having really only read one other (Preacher).  I sometimes have a hard time focusing on all the details of the art.  So during my read through today I went very slow and tried to focus on every panel.  I defiantly saw much more than I had before.  Jess you're an amazing artist, I totally look forward to seeing this project through to the end.

Awesome post, dude. I really appreciate it.

I actually haven't gone back and read everything since we wrapped issue 2. But then again, I'm so intimately familiar with it all, that it's hard for me to read it with a fresh perspective. But I think it's important that I do so and try to judge it as a whole.

For instance, I know we have a ton of our Narrator Dude in issue 1, and then he's barely in issue 2 at all. Did that seem odd to you while reading it? Since issue 1 was introducing the world and most of the main cast, it felt more necessary to have the Narrator Dude. I also thought his slang helped get the reader in an '80s mindset. But I feel like if we used the Narrator Dude too much, he could get annoying. So in issue 2, he was just reserved for moments when we might need some added clarity. Like to inform the reader that this crazy sci-fi shit that's busting out of nowhere isn't a dream.

I've talked before about how it's a necessary evil to put out only one page a week, but there are two things I prefer about updating the comic that way.

First, it almost forces the reader to slow down a bit and soak in the details. I know when I read a comic the "traditional" way, I tend to plow through it without spending as much time as I should soaking up the art details, which is a bummer for the artist who spent forever on it.

Second, it encourages discussion on individual pages, as opposed to merely talking about the issue as a whole. And as creators, we're always greedy for feedback.

I really need to slow-read it as well.

I like narrator dude. It definitely helps in pages that are low on dialogue, such as when Viper chases the ninja through the woods. We can all see he's chasing the guy but the floppy dong comments are brilliant. It's a sort of self-review of the action in a way or a live-commentary. I didn't miss it in any particular page though..

Was it because she couldn't see that bowl of space noodles on her lap anymore..? ;)

That should have been one of my methods of weeding out the babes I was talking to back on my mid-90s days of being a cyber stud on AOL. Since almost no one had pictures of themselves back then, I had to rely on physical descriptions, and of course most girls aren't upfront with bust size, despite it being of paramount importance. So I could have simply asked, "If you're eating a bowl of space noodles that's sitting in your lap, would you have any trouble seeing it?" If they say something like, "Uh, no, of course not. Why would I?" Then I know it's time to move on.

If only I could get a time machine.

Haha I'm sure there a whole list of trick questions you could come up with!

I'm slowly taking over this comic, can you tell?

Right. Someday I'll come to this site and find Eddie up in the header image is now wearing a lab coat, a goatee, and non-sun glasses.

He'll also be grinning like a happy idiot when people aren't sure anymore whether to take him serious or not.

Sweet, I'm loving this outer space anime-inspired bounty hunting crazy demon shinobi classic movie referencing craziness! Super anxious to see this interact with the main story.

This isn't the main story?

Hmmm... I'm actually stumped as to whether you're being serious or not. Good job.

When in doubt, not serious.. 8)

Babe Alert: Like an oasis in the seemingly neverending desert of dude, Ket saves the day with her luscious curves, beautiful face, and bountiful t--

A welcome respite to the sausage fest you mean haha! "t--" means jugglers? Fun bags? Mammaries?

Jugglers? I know of jugs, of course (boy, do I!) but jugglers is a new one on me. Typo, or more of your crazy Euro-slang?

People pretty much just make it up as they go along here really. I don't know how many alternatives for the word "drunk" I've heard around here by now as I lost count a few years ago.

Not sure if Rijst is joking or what, but I wasn't censoring myself - the joke is that I was starting to write "tits" but got "interrupted" by Adam's shocking admission of guilt.

I completely missed that because I was so full of myself. Sorry about that..

Did I break the record for the number of quotes and sub-quotes just now?
