Pretty much. It's on an open tab and when I have time I go through the listings bookmarking webcomics that I think might be decent, starting from where I left off, and it's rare that I see one that I love as much as yours. Unfortunately I binge-read your comic, and got to the end too fast   :-\ Now I have "show hole" (if that can be applied to webcomics)...

Well I just so happen to have some great suggestions for how you (and others in your predicament!) can help fill that SN8X-shaped void in your soul:

  • If you haven't already, explore the depths of the site to make such rad discoveries as character bios, live-action promo videos, SN8X interviews, '80s movie reviews (both in article and podcast flavors), a rather excessive FAQ, among other wonders!
  • Re-read the comic and this time check out the commentary for each page to see all the witty (and insightful!) comments.
  • Re-read the comic while noting the various tropes and adding those to the Satan Ninja 198X TV Tropes page (a badass fan of ours created it, but no tropes have been added yet :'( ).
  • Become a big-time Hollywood producer and then approach us with an irresistible offer for us to write and direct a big budget movie adaptation of SN8X.
  • Write an erotic Satan Ninja fan fiction novel, and then change the names of the characters to hide the fact it's based on the Satan Ninja intellectual property and publish it to poor reviews but massive success.
  • Go out and find your very own Shinobi Fist of Hellpower and then become a Satan Ninja, rendering this comic unappealing to you because you live the "real deal."

Hope that helps!

Wow well that's a hell of a "hey in the meantime" list

Heh, yeah, I think it might've scared off James, since he hasn't posted since. Maybe he didn't realize I was joking.

Well, mostly joking.

Actually I don't think I have really.  Some if it may be a bit reaching, but Heather has had more than enough opportunity to sling insults at Eddie the way Veronica and Dean have and has not.  She also Dates Ryan (it's Ryan right?) Who helped our man Eddie out.  Plus there is the whole thing that her and Eddie were childhood friends a prediction from her family upbringing leads me to believe that she has some emotion unlike Veronica.

Let's see, in Heather's first appearance, she's pushing drugs on poor sad Veronica. So she's a drug pusher. Then Heather laughed right along with the others when Dean pushed Eddie down into the ice cream and his pants ripped. At the party, she seductively eats a hot dog in front of poor drunk Dean, tempting him with her feminine charms despite having a boyfriend and knowing that Dean's in a vulnerable state of mind because the love of his life just broke up with him. And then, when Dean makes a pass at her during this moment of weakness, she has the audacity to make a veiled threat about her boyfriend Ryan assaulting Dean. And then, after Eddie and Dean fight, Heather makes light of this highly sensitive situation by teasing Veronica and calling Eddie Veronica's new boyfriend, confusing her poor intellectually deficient boyfriend Ryan in the process. Later, when Heather's talking on the phone to Veronica, she suggests that Alex could be messing with her makeup, betraying her paranoia, and then she refuses to accompany Veronica to the dance club, even though she's Veronica's best friend and knows that Veronica has been going through a hard time lately. What a cold-hearted bitch. And when we last saw her, eating breakfast, did you not see how disrespectful she was to her loving father? Not only that, but she suggested that her poor younger sister doesn't even know how to be a girl.

Now let's look at Veronica. When we're first introduced to her, she's crying, obviously heart-broken over the loss of her boyfriend. Poor girl. Then Eddie adds salt to her wounds by objectifying her in his dreams, turning her into some prize to be won. Later, Eddie sees during the school lunch that she's distraught over her recent breakup, but instead of sympathizing with her in the least, he excitedly hatches a scheme to try to take advantage of her vulnerable state of mind. After school, he rudely interrupts her while she's trying to enjoy her ice cream and spend quality time with her friend. Then, when Dean confronts her, Eddie butts in in her defense, thus robbing Veronica of her agency in the situation. It's no wonder she laughs when Eddie falls into the ice cream, as I'm sure that laughter is the only thing holding back the tears. Later, when Veronica is trying to forget her sorrows and enjoy herself at Kyle Conner's party, Eddie rudely crashes the party and invades her privacy. He shoves a pig in her face, confusing the poor girl, and then has the nerve to ask her to be his prom date, despite not being in the same social or physical league as Veronica. But instead of angrily telling him to fuck off, Veronica starts to let him down nicely, that is, until Dean butts in. Then she even compliments Eddie, saying he probably knows how to treat a woman better than Dean. After Eddie reveals what a violent jerk he is by sucker punching Dean in the face and threatening him with martial arts, Veronica still finds it within herself to look very concerned when Dean jokes about throwing Eddie in the fire. What a heart that girl has! Then, when Eddie badgers her once again about the prom, she does the right thing. Instead of stringing him along, she lets him know it's not going to happen, and she even whispers this so as not to embarrass him in front of the whole party. Hell, she even thanks Eddie for helping her out with Dean. The girl is a fucking angel!

I love what the Satanic Temple has been doing in recent years. They keep pulling these stunts that serve as brilliant satire, highlighting why some people take issue with things like Christian after-school programs targeted at indoctrinating elementary school kids.

The promo video made me laugh. But man, couldn't they choose a font that'd better match the creepy tone?

You should mispronounce it and stress the first syllable though, Dutch stresses the last syllable which makes it sound a bit lame in my not-so-humble opinion..

Well of course I'm going to pronounce it to sound as much like Megatron as possible.

Fun fact, "magnetron" is the Dutch word for a microwave.  8)

That is awesome. It makes microwave sound all wimpy. That's it, I'm converting. No more wimpy microwaves in my place, only magnetrons. Hell yeah, heating up Beefaroni just got way more badass.

Make sure not to miss certain episodes that'll come in mid-to-late October, as I heard those will be extra radical...

So you and Jessica are going to be on the Best Debate podcast or the Dick Show?  Or both?

Possibly both, but we'll be on at least one of those for sure. Unless, like, some sorta catastrophe happens.

I actually think Joe is a great character, I know he came off as a bit of an ass to Eddie but like every high school senior he's really trying to find his place and he's been innocent enough in doing so (thus far).  Plus who can hate a guy that wants to be the first to bang on the moon lol.

Yeah, he's pretty much the straight man of Eddie's friend group. And he's the most normal, which could make him seem boring. But, there are some plot-lines involving Joe that Jessica and I are really looking forward to.

So far every vote has been for a different character, so that's cool to see.

I've got nothing against blondes, but I do think personality can improve or degrade attractiveness.

Fair enough. But now I'm curious to know how you think Heather has displayed a better personality than Veronica. They're actually quite different, but that hasn't been shown much in the comic. So far, they've pretty much been shown to be different hair flavors of the same preppy popular girl archetype.

If I remember correctly, it was done by the same dudes who did the Italian Spiderman trailer, which was awesome. They did such a good job at making it seem authentically '60s.

Not long after I posted this, I discovered that the trailer was later expanded into a short film, so Jessica and I watched it while we ate dinner. It was fun, but we thought the material worked better when it was just a trailer for a non-existent movie. It definitely had some laughs, but we felt a lot of the scenes dragged on for too long. The main chick was a total babe, though.

I remember suggesting this a year or two ago, but I know that I (at the very least) would be totally cool if the comic took a break for a month or two in order to build that page buffer back up. Maybe between issues would be best. Of course, updates such as podcast episodes, sketches, and so on would be appreciated just to know that you're both alive.

It's always a treat to see that pizza wizard avatar "kazamo!" his way into a thread. Now if Kooky Kobuki, Jake (Not The Snake), and JamesADickerson were to bust in, the gang would all be here. Or, something like that. [Edit: And our newest dude, Magnetron—I just realized he didn't post in this thread.]

But yeah, we'll probably end up taking a short break once we wrap Issue 3, both to give Jessica time to knock out another badass cover, and hopefully to get a head start on pages so we can resume a steady release schedule. One or two months sounds likely. We really want to avoid a half year hiatus like we took after Issue 2.

Can't wait to see how this brawl turns out!!! :D

The final part of Issue 3 is going to be awesome.

I think I first heard of Danger 5 when we were tabling at conventions last year, and a few people recommend we check it out. We haven't, yet, because, well, we're usually too busy to watch stuff, and when we find the time, we try to make headway through the massive list of '80s movies we plan to watch. That's been the case for years, so we're waaaaaay behind on current shows and movies. A few weeks ago, we finally decided to break out of our '80s bubble briefly to watch Game of Thrones, because that's a show we've been interested in for a long time and we wanted to watch it before too much could be spoiled for us (we're totally spoiler crybabies).

But we're definitely interested in Danger 5. If I remember correctly, it was done by the same dudes who did the Italian Spiderman trailer, which was awesome. They did such a good job at making it seem authentically '60s.

I have listened to a number of episodes from his old podcast as well as his new podcast.  I think that Maddox is a great debater and  I like how prepared he is whenever he makes an argument for or against something.  I also love his reactions when people make fun of him or say something he disagrees with.  I also like Sean.  He seems like a cool guy.  Dick Masterson had his moments on the old podcast, but overall I wasn't a big fan of his.  I'm kind of curious as to why Maddox no longer works with Dick though.

Jessica and I became big fans of Biggest Problem shortly after Maddox launched it. It's the first podcast we ever really got into and followed on a consistent basis. I thought Dick and Maddox made an awesome duo, with just enough of a discrepancy between their personalities to make for an entertaining show. It was a total bummer when they had their falling out and the show ended, not only because it was our favorite show, but also because we had arranged to be guests on it.

Best Debate got off to a really rough start with the first episode, probably because it was rushed out during a time of duress, but I hope most people gave it a chance beyond that, because it got vastly better with the follow up episodes. The Dick Show is good too, but if you're not a fan of Dick, then I guess it wouldn't offer much for you. Asterios has done some great bits for it though. His Marvel Press release he did a couple episodes ago was one of my favorite bits he's ever done.

Haha, no problem. I wasn't ever able to get into the Diablo games. I gave 'em a shot, but the whole endless clicking on monsters in hopes of finding better loot grind just didn't appealed to me.

That's true.  Another issue that I had was figuring out what to do with all the gems and runes that I got.  I always had a hard time figuring out to how utilize them because I was too worried that I would fuck something up.

I don't remember the gem or rune system. I guess I didn't play the games for long enough. I remember wanting to like them, because I loved the dark fantasy aesthetics, but the gameplay just wasn't for it. Now I get my dark fantasy fix with the Dark Souls games.

Honestly though this movie sounds so quintessentially 80s I can't believe you didn't end up giving it 4/5. I haven't seen anything beyond the trailer and I know how cringe worthy this slapstick stuff can get at times but it sounds like an utter classic.

It was tough, because I loved half the movie. The action was top notch. But the slapstick comedy didn't do it for me and I had almost no attachment to the characters, which brought down the rating.

Listened to the Vision Quest episode. I love how you guys don't seem to agree on anything here. Jessica, like me, can't stomach this sort of wet nonsense and Adam is trying to put a positive spin on things. Especially when it gets down to grading it.

Our movie tastes generally align to a remarkable degree, but I definitely have a way stronger tolerance for straight "drama" than Jessica does. I think she's just afraid to feel something.

I probably wouldn't finish watching this movie. I mean, a rape attempt? That should really be where it ends with the guy going to jail..

We might be going a little too far by calling it an attempted rape, but it was pretty bad. He throws her onto his bed and then drops on top of her and begins forcefully kissing her, but then she hits him and pushes him away, and then storms out of his room. I thought for sure that would be the death-knell for his chances with Carla, but she totally ends up letting him bone her later on, which really sends a fucked up message to the viewer.

I discovered Satan Ninja through Maddox.

Awesome. Some of our best fans discovered us through Maddox, so you're in good company. Do you listen to Maddox's podcast?

Also, I hate to admit that I've never played Warcraft (The only Blizzard games that I have played are Diablo and Diablo 2).  I just chose the avatar because I thought it looked badass.

Haha, no problem. I wasn't ever able to get into the Diablo games. I gave 'em a shot, but the whole endless clicking on monsters in hopes of finding better loot grind just didn't appealed to me. But my favorite Blizzard games might actually be The Lost Vikings and Blackthorne, both from the SNES era.
