The container that Ket tossed Lord Hreig's head into totally looks like some kind of space piano.

I almost got rid of the "minions" line because I didn't want people to think I was making a reference to that stupid movie that I've never seen. But fuck it.

Yeah, I figure the occasional "bloody" is enough to get the point across. Perhaps I'll toss in "brilliant" once in awhile. And I'll make a note to avoid the word "banter." Asking for an affirmation after making a statement also seems very British to me. "That idol's downright grotesque, isn't it? Reminds me a bit of the ol' mother 'n law. But that's not very nice, is it?"

I know British people say "mate" but in the US that's much more strongly associated with Australia than Britain.

You're going to be famous guys!

I'm going to hold you to that. Now if it doesn't happen, I'll be super disappointed in you, Science Dude.

Ugh, that idol is so damn disturbing to me. Nightmare fuel. And the spines of the little skulls that project from its crown-thing must be so fucking strong for Darwick to hold it like that without it snapping. Or maybe they just have the spaceship's artificial gravity set low. I once read a sci-fi short story where this stacked chick would always turn down the gravity of her ship so her tits would seem even perkier. It was a pretty cool story.

Jessica figured out a way to make really nice star fields, so now she's going to go back and update some of the old pages with sloppy star fields.

I might have pointed this out on the forums before, but Ket speaks with a mild British accent, hence why her dialogue is occasionally peppered with British slang. Why does our token anime character speak with a British accent? Ask Jessica, as it was her idea. Also, if any of our British readers think I did a poor job with the Brit-slang, my excuse to you is that she speaks "Space British English" which is just different enough from actual British English to excuse my ignorance on the topic.

Haha, thanks.

I dig the quote. I still can't fathom why no one from Hollywood has approached me with an offer to make a full-length Badass Ninjas movie.

Love seeing Eddie's realization kick in.

Yeah, Jessica did a great job with his expression. But then again, she's usually great with expressions, so that's to be expected.

Is Sam going to join him in his ninja adventures?

Sam will have a pretty big presence in this issue. Actually, Jessica was a little hesitant to pose Sam next to Eddie the way she did on the cover, because she didn't want to give the impression that Sam is Robin to Eddie's Batman.

I absolutely love those sideburns..

Edit: I was going to say "Maybe I should grow a pair" but then thought better of it..

Ho-ho, deftly dodged.

I used to rock some decent sideburns, as evidenced in some of my camcorder classics like Badass Ninjas.

That is a shitty dilemma, could you release it for Christmas perhaps?

I plan to release it this month. Jessica's going to help me think of a new title so it doesn't seem to intrinsically tied to October. I was never totally married to the title anyway.

Yeah I prefer the new order better to be honest. I think my favourite one is where the girl walks down the alleyway and gets a lecture about "what he's got" haha!

Yeah, the new order is definitely an improvement. The "Father and Son" segment is not only Jessica's and my favorite, but it's also instantly apparent that it's supposed to be a comedic parody-type thing. I thought about opening with the "Veronica and Punks" segment, but that could be taken seriously at first and give people the wrong impression.

Speaking of the "Veronica and Punks" segment, that was the first one I wrote, about a year ago. Originally, this promo was going to be more of a short movie where the punks would actually harass her and then the "Satan Ninja" would come to her rescue and slice them up, chopping off a head and at least one arm. But then Kung Fury came out and we realized that our short little live-action Satan Ninja movie would seem really lackluster following in the wake of that. So that's when I decided to re-write it to turn the promo into a series of cheesy '80s-inspired commercials for the comic.

This is awesome, you guys put so much work into this!

Too much, actually. Focusing on getting this promo done has caused me to neglect the horror novel I had meant to release this October. It's pretty much ready to go, but now I feel a little silly releasing a book called Grim October in November. But my only other option is to sit on it for a whole year. Shit.

I was so stoked to watch this.  Loved it all.  Shared with facebook, youtube/G+.  I hope this takes off.

So is the plan to release these as individual "commercials" for advertising purposes to say youtube/adsense?

Glad you liked it, dude. Thanks for sharing it. We've chopped it up and re-uploaded it as individual commercials, which I think will be less intimidating to casual viewers than a near-10 minute video. I also think we made a mistake with the order we placed the commercials in with the full compilation I posted to the site. We placed the most surreal and least accessible commercial first, when it should've been last.

I originally named this page "Ninja Powers" but having the forum post be titled "Issue 3 - Ninja Power! - Page 1 - Ninja Powers" was just a bit too redundant for me.

No more teenage dreams and Eddie-bashing in issue 3 then? Ninja action, that dead guy waking up (presumably) and vampires or something? Cool!

More or less.

Holy shit! Just look at that. It has everything you could want! The fact that we don't have this thing as a poster hanging on every wall of our home is pissing me off. Seriously, Jessica keeps making these covers more and more rad. She'll have to tone it back or the next cover will exhaust the universe's supply of radness—and we need that shit to fuel this comic! Also, if she keeps increasing the number of characters with each cover, then it'll become a Where's Waldo parody by the time we get to Issue 7.

I love the juxtaposition of Eddie on this cover, verses the cover to Issue 2.

This is simply amazing, I'm really looking forward to that. Are you just going to post these videos everywhere?

On social media and Reddit and hope they get noticed. And they should get noticed, because they rule. Seriously, we're really happy with how they're turning out.

That last photo was not for the promo though was it? That was just you getting a lap dance from Jess?

Oh, that was actually from the behind the scenes documentary we're making, Satan Ninja Unmasked, which explores the day to day lives of your typical extremely nerdy yet attractive couple who dedicate their lives to creating a radical '80s-themed comic for a couple dozen people to read and enjoy.
