Since it's the very first full piece of Satan Ninja art most people will ever see, we thought it was important to get it right.

« on: May 03, 2015, 03:48:15 PM »It's really rewarding to compare the images and try to figure out what's changed. Eyebrows are a good example I think, and the length of Joe's arm in the last panel..
I actually spend way too much time switching back and forth between the original and the updated images on the computer whenever Jessica updates things like this.

Agreed. After we finished Issue 1 and had a few copies printed, we compared the size of our text to several other comics and found that we could reduce the size of ours a little bit. So we did that with Issue 2, and now Jessica finally went back and updated the text in Issue 1 to match. Having smaller text gave her more room to play with balloon placement.

I actually had a huge list of various parody names for the foursome. It was hard to settle on one, so I mostly left it up to Jessica to decide. So direct your blame on her.

In my initial re-design of his room, that would've been a factor due to the slopped ceilings, but that would be too much of a pain for Jessica and would have caused way too much work re-doing all the panels of Eddie's room. So I messed with it some more, and now his room is built in the center of the attic space, so only the top of his walls are curved along with the roof. And the slant of the roof is steep enough so that his bedroom ceiling is about 8' overhead where the walls aren't slanted. The rest of the attic space, on either side of the room is used for storage. I'm not sure if you picture what I mean, but you'll see. Eddie's room was originally built by Grandpa McCarthy to be his personal getaway (AKA porn den).

Nah, it's mostly because it was just a quick little background image, so Jessica didn't put much thought or effort into it originally. But once we realized that Eddie's bedroom would be a recurring setting and she'd have to show his walls over and over again, that's when we decided it'd be best to make proper high quality images of his posters than can be re-used.
Also during this hiatus, I ended up mapping out Eddie's house. For various reasons, we've decided to retcon the location of his room from being in the basement, to being in the attic. So expect his room to get a mini-makeover.
