Jessica and I waffled back and forth a bit about the idea of Alex “coming to Eddie’s rescue” on this page. On one hand, it seemed fitting, and we thought the idea of her flipping into the scene whirling nunchucks was funny. On the other hand, it’s the kind of thing that could easily be groan worthy. Hopefully, we pulled it off.

We're currently waiting on a proof. If that's good, then we'll order the bulk printing. We're really hoping to have them in time for the convention we're appearing at in September. It's going to be close.

I prefer Flock Of Seagulls over Devo though.

Me too, actually. Until recently, I was only familiar with "I Ran," but I found I dig most of their early albums. Devo is a band that I can only listen to in small doses. Jessica was on a big Devo kick recently, but there's only so much I can handle.

I don't know how I came across this video, after all it was made when I was still a toddler.

That's the magic of the 'net, man. Anything digitized is immortal. At least until the apocalypse that'll kill off mostly everyone except violent punks with S&M fetishes.

I quite like the New Order songs I know but yes I think they take themselves quite seriously.

After listening to New Order's '80s discography, I've discovered that I'm not much of a fan, as I only like a handful of songs. But I'm a pretty big fan of Morrissey, and I dig some of The Cure, so my English mope-music quota is already filled up.

That's actually my favorite New Order song, but I'd never seen that video. It certainly ranks right up there with Devo on the weirdo scale. But whereas Devo have a sense of humor about their weirdness, it's hard for me to picture New Order thinking their video is anything aside from high art. After all, how can any band formed from the ashes of Joy Division have a sense of humor?

Definitely puts her down as cool-headed in the face of douchebaggery, although it's a stark contrast with page 1-10..

Well, on page 10 of issue 1, it's the night of the breakup and she's alone in her bedroom. She's actually crying more from hurt pride and embarrassment (which will make better sense when more details about how she found the tape are revealed) than from a broken heart. But even on that page, some of her anger shows through with her writing "Cheeting asshole" with her lipstick over the photo of the two of them.

Now it's the following day, she's gotten the crying out of her system, and she's drugged up and has her best friend to back her up (not to mention ice cream), so she's more angry/annoyed than sad.

I loved this page so much that I called my GF a cute slut pig. Then we went out for ice cream. I had to use my car doors though.   

100% true.

I love this anecdote almost as much as I love your awesomely offensive name.

Awesome page - I'm definitely glad that it's crammed full of panels just so we can keep advancing the story.

It's a balancing act. We want to tell as much story as we can in each page, but we don't want the pages to feel overly crammed. A friend of ours who also does comics recommended a limit of seven panels per page. We've obviously gone well beyond that many times, but I think it depends on how it's done.

I definitely didn't expect to see a cute pig anytime soon!

Heh, I'm glad Snacky has come off as cute. We wanted to make him ugly, but in a cute way. .Here's a real-life pot-bellied pig we took some inspiration from. Snacky isn't quite as old that pig, as he still has some spring to his step. At least when ice cream is involved.

She's dead to me now has to be the best quote in this issue so far.

I'm struggling to remember what the quote boxes used to look like now, they probably didn't bother me enough then..

The backgrounds of the quote boxes were the default really light powder blue. Since the rest of the forum's colors have been modified to fit our radical color scheme, they stood out really bad to me.

I love the way Jessica draws Eddie's pet pig, Snacky Love. He turned out better than I had imagined.

Also, I think this page is the record for the number of panels we've squeezed into one page. We have a lot to cover in this issue.

As for the babe talk, totally digging Heather in this page.

I think the most attractive rendition of Heather that Jessica's done is still her first appearance on page 2 of issue 2.

Have you ever asked a girl if she can touch elbows behind her back? Works best on a large chested lass and if you wrap it up a bit, like Ooh my shoulder is a bit stiff, my elbows can't even touch like this anymore.

That's what Heather looks like she's doing in the first frame.. 

Right, but I think what Heather's doing is a bit more subtle than Veronica, who's pushing her tits together with her arms.

As for asking girls to try and touch their elbows behind their back, I can't picture that ever working. Maybe if the girl were still in middle school or something, because any busty girl who's older than that has probably had guys try to pull the elbow thing on them before.

[Edit: Oh, man. I'm happy to see Ghoul was able to change the quote boxes, which used to stand out like crazy.]

I just love how the reasons for killing people in these movies are just ridiculous. War Buddy doesn't want to sell his house? I know, get a ninja to kill his mate. I think that if you offered the money he spent on Black Ninja to War Buddy he'd sell his house without any fuss..

It's logic like this that put all the ninjas of the world out of work. I think people should resort to hiring ninjas more often.

I hope the reviews become a regular thing!

I'm sure there will be plenty more reviews. The next two movies of the "Ninja Trilogy" will be coming soon, and any other '80s movie we watch that inspires me to write. I'm probably going to focus on more obscure movies, as opposed to the big ones that everyone's already seen.
