I just want to say that your webcomic is pretty freaking awesome! Definitely one of the best ones I've seen in a really long time. From the art, the story and dialogue, to the web design.

How often do you guys update?

Since we launched the website, the goal has been to put out a new page every Saturday. But we just recently changed that to a more vague "one page a week. Usually."

I'm actually going to be writing a blog post soon that'll go into more detail about why we've made that change. But the short version is that Jessica's going to strive to produce a page a week, and we'll post them as soon as they're ready (you can sign up for our mailing list to get notified as soon as a new page goes live). Hopefully, we'll be able to work things out so that we can get back to steady Saturday updates.

Great podcast! Love to hear more!

Thanks! More shall come. One of the nice things about doing this podcast is that it doesn't require much extra effort from Jessica, so she'll remain free to focus on art. We watch and discuss these movies anyway, so it's not terribly different doing it with an audience in mind. And she makes the thumbnail images simple so she can bust them out quickly.

Episode 4 is definitely our favorite so far, and that'll be released later this week.

I have watched a multitude of bad movies and somehow missed Vision Quest.

It's actually not a bad movie. It's well-made. We tend to prefer our "Quest" movies to be of a more fantastical nature, but anyone who likes more realistic teen dramas will probably enjoy it. And if they also happen to be a high school wrestler, then it'll probably be their favorite movie.

I also saw a documentary movie about Jackie Chan. He is a badass Hong Konger!

What a terrible apology. Poor Jennifer.

Originally, we thought of calling the page "Wiener Time" but that kind of spoils the joke. Plus, someone scrolling through the archive might mistakenly think the page features the SN8X parody of the '80s video game Burger Time, and then be all disappointed.

By the way, for those who don't know, Burger Time was an arcade game where you play a chef that's being chased around by angry giant personified hotdogs and eggs as you try to put together giant hamburgers by running over top of them. It's pretty rad.

Thanks! I came up with a big list of possiblities, but that was the one I could get Jessica to agree with. She's a picky one.

I vaguely remember seeing the first Death Wish and suddenly remember how tacky I thought it was. This trailer really confirmed it.

That first one was a lot more serious. Not nearly as over the top as Death Wish 3. It's crazy that they're even directed by the same dude.

So you're reviewing a movie that plays out in a neighbourhood full of punks that bother people for sport at the same time your web comic features a neighbourhood full of punks that bother people for sport. Is this a coincidence or are we going to see references to comic pages in your choice of movies more often?

Total coincidence, but a good one. Speaking of punks harassing people, Jessica's putting the final touches on the new page as I type this. We thought for sure it'd be up by Saturday this time, but of course stuff happened this weekend that delayed things.

I have not saw the Death Wish series in a long time, but you guy's did an excellent job jogging my memory. 

I really enjoy you guy's doing a podcast,  it's very natural and knowing you guy's I could easily picture being in a discussion with you guy's during this.

Thanks! We've recorded three more, and I think we've gotten better as we've gone along, so that's promising.

Next step would be doing a live stream so you could interact with fans.

Ah, but we'd first need to have enough fans to make sure there'd be someone to actually interact with.

Heh, I'm not sure if that's a typo and you meant to say "non-punk," or if you're referring to the fact that the other chick, Toxic, has pink hair. But anyway, I would guess Razor either nods or points toward his sister after saying his line, or Sam could infer which of the two girls is Jennifer by her body language.

Typical 80s bad neigbourhood where all the punks live and no normal people, never mind that razor's grandfather is the richest man in town (right? Or am I mistaken?).

You totally deserve a high five for remembering who Razor's grandpa is, since it's only mentioned once way back on the 6th page of the comic. However, his grandpa is probably the second wealthiest resident, with Dean's dad, the owner of SlateCorp, being the first. Actually, a lot more about that will be coming up in the comic really soon.

I really wonder how this is going to end up, either he's going to beat up the whole gang or he's massively overestimaging himself and gets his arse kicked once again. This is Eddie after all..

Or we'll once again subvert expectations and have the encounter be diffused without any action going down. Like we did when Alex challenged Dean in the front yard, or the anticlimactic C&C game in the Dark Dungeon... Nah, you won't have to worry about that. No more cock-teasing this issue. It's time to go all the way.

I imagine it’s gotta be frustrating to suddenly have magical hell-spawned ninja powers, but no readily available bad guys to try them out on. So what’s one to do? Why, spend the day walking around the rough parts of the city, hoping to either witness some kind of crime or get harassed yourself. Which can make for a pretty boring day, as even in the shitty parts of River City, crime isn’t non-stop. Especially when a red-eyed muscular dude with cockrocker hair and a weird spiked leather getup is on patrol.

It reminds me of this one day, during my lame period as a self-destructive teen, I wore a pair of dumb looking neon pink and orange sunglasses to school, hoping to bait a “bully” into making fun of me so I could fight him. No one did, probably because I’d already been dismissed as a weirdo by that point. Or maybe I was mistaken and neon pink and orange sunglasses were actually really stylish at the time; I’ve never kept up with fashion trends.

Anyway, it’s rad to see some familiar characters from Issue 1 finally making a return to the comic. I know there’s also a certain badass character that’s been MIA since the first issue, but I promise he’ll be back eventually, and it’ll be glorious.

I don’t think we’ve revealed most of the punks' names yet, so here you go:

Razor (green-haired punk)

Scorp (black punk)
Sleaze (red mohawk punk)

Better late than never with your comic!

Yeah, that's the right attitude to have! Especially this week, because, uh, there's no way the next page is coming out today. It's a big one, and Jessica got a late start with it, due to last week's page spilling over into this week. Plus she has to finish up this month's bonus comic for her Patreon. But! This next page is going to be awesome, so it'll be worth the wait. In fact, the rest of Issue 3 contains the sorta stuff I think everyone's been looking forward to (I know I have). It only gets more radical from here...

I shouldn't have said anything - last time I pointed out that Alex wasn't completely hiding her chest, Jessica went back and edited it!
