I intended him to speak with a kind of "spooky" font, but we haven't yet found one we're satisfied with.

This is totally the font: http://www.dafont.com/tango-macabre.font

God dammit.

Looks like you need to redo the whole comic.

Again.

God dammit.

"WHAT?!!" I imagine his voice as a deeper Crypt Keeper.

I imagine him sounding a bit like a cross between the Cryptkeeper and Skeletor. But maybe a little more toned down and, like you said, slightly deeper.

I intended him to speak with a kind of "spooky" font, but we haven't yet found one we're satisfied with.

Haha this page cracked me up. Vektor mode? That is brilliantly done!

I always chuckle at how depressed Vektoria looks once she switches to Vektor mode.

I need to check out that patreon page. Is that like bandcamp but for non-musicians?

Not exactly. Actually, there are a bunch of musicians that use Patreon. And so do some podcasters, let's players, reviewers, etc. It's a service for basically anyone who creates some form of art/entertainment, and it's become extremely common for webcomic creators to utilize it. Just go to the site and Jessica explains it in a short video.

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that Ket using all these explosives while wearing her bounty hunting garb reminds me of the box cover for the first NES Bomberman game. It's easily the coolest Bomberman has ever looked.

On this page we finally reveal the official name of the magical gloves. We also have Ket busting out another space grenade, which I assume are able to fit into her utility belt due to some mysterious magical space tech. As for the spikes on the grenade that help it lodge into the target, they don’t project from it until the grenade is airborne (just in case you were wondering how someone would carry it without stabbing themselves).

And for any of you that missed the big news this week: Jessica has launched a Patreon page. If you follow that link you’ll find a video of Jessica enthusiastically explaining what that’s all about. We’ve also given our promo videos and fan art a permanent home under the “Extras” section of the top navigation menu.

Some of you might be wondering why the Patreon page is for Jessica and not for the both of us. It's because, although we live together and have been a couple for nearly nine years, we still keep our finances separate. We each have our own bank accounts and we keep track of who owes money to whom.

Jessica's the one who puts all the hard work into Satan Ninja, and so she's the one who deserves the Patreon support.

He's Kyle Connor II, so he goes by his last name because "[his] dad's Kyle".

Wouldn't that make him Kyle Connor Jr.?

Either works, I think. Maybe there's an income quota you need to meet in order to go with the II option instead of Jr., since that has more noble connotations to me.

But anyway, I thought of the solution. There are two dudes named Kyle in his grade/friend group, so to differentiate, they call Kyle Connor by his last name.

No detail is too small is it?

Unlike Jessica, I wasn't too concerned about Connor's name. After all, we could just say that his parents moved to the US from Ireland shortly after Connor was born. Problem solved. But I'm also fine with Connor being his surname. Now I just need to come up with a reason that his friends often call him by his last name instead of Kyle.

I love how Eddie is suddenly hot on poses, he can't even throw a star sideways without striking one (and nearly killing that poor animal).

Eddie producing a ninja star and tossing it off to the side and surprising an animal wasn't in my script for the page, but Jessica decided to add that in to have more visually interesting things to show instead of Alex and Eddie simply standing there talking. I suggested the creature he nearly impales could be a squirrel, but she made the point that chipmunks are more '80s (Alvin and the Chipmunks; Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers).

Name origin of Connor: "Anglicized form of the Irish Gaelic Conchobhar, a compound name composed of the elements conn (wisdom, counsel, strength) or con (hound, dog) and cobhair (aid). “High, will, desire” and “hound lover” are other definitions attributed to the name."

What a weird name. But even weirder... the community comments about the name... who ARE these people:
"My son is a Connor and he likes his name. There are three Connors in his Boy Scout troop and they go by big, little and medium Connor or last names. His name is misspelled all the time by teachers, relatives and friends. He corrects it and jokes around about being rich if he got paid a dollar for every time he had to correct people. It is a great name for boys."

Haha. Good.

"More of a ninja and less of a satan." Hehe, nice line.

Thanks, I was proud of that one.

Well, we could sort of blame it on the food, since I'm fairly certain we caught it during one of the many holiday gatherings we've attended over the past couple weeks. I'm feeling mostly better now. Jessica didn't start feeling sick until a few days after me, so she's still in the thick of it. Nothing terrible; just a cold. But for some reason I got a super sore neck right around the same time I got sick, so I'd get daggers of pain if I moved my neck too fast. A super sore neck and a cold that makes you have to sneeze is a Hell-spawned combo.

It sucks we had to go to the King Diamond concert while we were feeling crummy, but I had already purchased the tickets and I couldn't get a refund. Plus he's exclusively playing old stuff this tour, which made it ideal for people like us who seem to have an incredibly hard time liking anything made within the past couple decades.

Why did you fancy getting a pig? I'd never even heard of them as pets until a few years ago..

In the US, there was a time during the 80s when adopting a pot-bellied pig became a minor fad. But these pigs were marketed in a way that led consumers to believe that they'd remain these cute tiny little guys. Of course the fad came to an end when people realized that these little piggies actually grow up to become big grunting monsters like Snacky.

So I sort of grew up with the idea that pigs could be pets. Plus (I'm pretty sure I mentioned this on the forums before), one of my neighbors had a big pet pig that would greet any new visitors to their house with aggression until that visitor fed it a jelly bean. So a jelly bean container was kept by the entrance of the house.

When I got older and learned that pigs are, on average, smarter than dogs, it seemed like it'd be neat to have a pig for a pet. Until I read about what a pain in the ass they are to care for properly.

Did he just summon the sword like that? I love how it has a bone-like pommel.

Yeah, he totally summoned the sword. He's doing it on the cover too. I assume it hangs out in whatever pocket dimension holds Optimus Prime's semi-trailer when he's not using it.

Did Alex leap over that fence? That's impressive considering it looks as tall as the characters. She really does have sweet martial art skills.

The sweetest! But how is leaping the fence more impressive than when she flipped through the air to Eddie's rescue in Issue 2?

Once upon a time, I fancied the notion of getting a pot-bellied pig as a pet (this might've been influenced by my love of the Ranma ½ anime). But then I read up on how to properly care for them and told that notion to fuck right off.

One of their favorite things to do is rut around in the ground for grubs and other gross shit to eat, so they require a lot of rutting area to be happy, and of course they'll totally fuck it up. That's why Eddie's back yard looks so shitty. I'm not the type of person to give a fuck about having a nice lawn (in fact, I'd be happy with a  lawn of nothing but rocks), but I don't plan on ever having a big enough yard to support a rut-happy pig. Also, pigs eat a fuck-ton and like to roll around in the mud and I'm way too much of a neat-freak to be cool with that.

So no pet piggy for me. Snacky Love will have to do.

Ket is suddenly very.. submissive. Does she have a thing with corpses who blast doors through space ships or is this a trick to surprise him with a roundhouse kick in the face?  8)

I'll just say that Mordlich is way too undead for her tastes.

I meant to include pictures in my previous post but I forgot.

Here's Synergy from the Jem cartoon:

And here's a female program from the 1981 film Tron:

Moving on though, I like the way the stars look. I also think the way Ket is drawn (light shading, the way the seats look comfy-yet-solid, etc.) reminds me a bit of the 80s X-men comics I used to have somewhere. Maybe that's also because Vektoria looks a bit like Storm (I must've said this before). Is that on purpose?

Now that you point it out, the seats totally do look comfy-yet-solid. Weird. And yeah, I could see the Storm comparison: dark skin, no iris/pupils, funky getup. But she actually wasn't inspired by any of the X-men. She was inspired mostly by Synergy from the Jem cartoon and the "programs" from Tron.
