That's really cool man, do they use a lot of comic characters?

Actually, no. Most of the characters are made up specifically for the Neon City card games, and they're mostly parodies of characters from '80s and '90s video games. There are a few guest characters from other franchises, but I'm fairly certain that Satan Ninja is the only character taken from a comic.

They must've been thinking about a ninja-like character but couldn't come up with anything cool until they saw this comic. That's when they realised they could never top it and went with the good old "if you can't beat them join them" mantra..

I'm a fan of Grandma, she reminds of one I know irl. Not caring about one's level of bluntness... so looking forward to getting away with that when I'm old.

Oh man, it took me waaay too long to figure out what HRM stood for. That's how not British I am.

This is probably the first time I wrote that to be honest, I'm not very British myself.

Well no but I thought I'd post something that didn't originate in the dirty 95% of my brain.

I think you'll really enjoy the dinner scene that's coming up.

These are classic Street Fighter moves they're making. I also love how their hair waves about and ends up a lot more messy than when they started. All without any blurry-limb shortcuts, well done!

Funny that you mention Street Fighter. Drawing fight scenes is a relatively new experience for Jessica, so to try and make this scene a bit easier on her, I suggested it could all be shot in profile and Eddie and Alex could mimic moves performed in the original Street Fighter game (since that came out in '87). So not only would that provide easy reference material, but it'd be spoofing a classic game in the process. But Jessica decided against it, because she wanted the panels to be more visually interesting, and I totally think she pulled it off.

Decided against profile shot or SF moves? That tackle in panel 3 is a classic video game move I'd say..

How do you ever get any sciencing done with your mind always in the gutter?

I wonder about that myself sometimes, I guess I just switch between the two really quickly..

Actually, Jessica decided to make it so that Alex isn't facing Eddie while doffing her jacket and saying her line, specifically in order to try and tone down the sexual innuendo.

But then there are pervs like me who see euphemisms everywhere. I'll just shut up now..
