What are you, a doctor?

As for the final shot, I dunno, the director of Ninja Exploder II just didn't want pubes in that particular shot.

Yeah, I'm sure the director didn't want her bush to detract from the carefully constructed romance between his lead actors.

Holy shit those are some sexy undies. I’ll make sure to let you all know as soon as we launch our SN8X sexy-wear clothing brand. I’m sure it’ll include mega-hot pentagram speedos for the dudes and sexy space leotards for the babes.

When Jessica first drew this page, the first panel was from a totally different perspective, showing Eddie and Alex sitting on the couch with our viewpoint being in front of them. The problem was that Jessica wasn’t sure what expressions to give them. They’re supposed to be tired from their long day of satan ninja experimentations, but also amused by the end of the movie they just watched. But if they’re sitting there looking sleepy yet happy they’d end up looking really stoned or something.

So Jessica decided to completely redraw the panel, changing the viewpoint to behind them. It delayed the page a bit, but hey, now you get to see some totally rad credits! (Well, at least in the hi-rez version.)

Holy shit, that was... man, I don't even know. Actually, I'm surprised it took this long for the porn star April O'Neil to star in a TMNT parody. But there's something terrifying about the way the turtles look that I think would make it real hard to pop a boner while watching that.

I had absolutely no idea what to say about the lower half of your face so I went with the second thing that came to my mind (the first one was "chin"). I know it's not quite the 80s anymore but I hope you don't mind..

Eh, 1990 is close enough. Jessica's the one who's a big stickler for that. The way I see it, most things released in 1990 where probably created in '89 anyway.

is there any way to link to the attached file?

Well, you could upload it to an image hosting site like imgur and then post the image address here using the insert [img] bb code.

OMG THE REVENGINATOR! Love it..

Is there a porn version of that as well?

Holy shit, that hadn't even occurred to me. Looks like I have some pondering to do..

Adam Dravian, master of suspense..

Hmm, I'm tempted to say thanks, but that ellipsis (er, partial ellipsis ... ellip?) seems to be radiating sarcasm.

I'm not sure what it means actually, I tend to use it a lot. Comparing it to how I speak I'd say it finishes a sentence that sort of trails off rather than ends in a full stop. Like there's a carefully placed pause there for whatever effect. Could be sarcasm in one instance, an exaggeration in another or it could be to emphasise that a pun was intended. Sometimes it's just an invitation for people to reply. Three dots just seems so excessive on such an occasion..

In this case I'm pointing out the string of replies in this thread that fall just short of revealing enough of the story to answer the questions, leaving the reader longing for more. Kind of like when a season finale ends in a cliffhanger. It's interesting to note how people read into such a small detail here..

Well in that case: Thanks!

I think back in my more hirsute days as an AOL addicted teenager chatting up cyber babes, I used to overuse ellipses, probably in an attempt to seem mysterious or something..

Well, since I called in sick today and feel I should at least make an attempt, I made this biological illustration of you profile picture. Complete with annotation..

Hahaha! Thanks, Science Dude! That's so goddam good. Love my species variety. It's all highly accurate, except I'm not clear on the apparent MC Hammer reference to my chin.

I'll be adding this to the fanart section.

(Note to you lurker dudes that are confused because you're not seeing the image we're talking about: attached images to posts only show up when you're logged in.)

It's fairly obvious they're watching a movie to anyone who's been reading the comic. That star joke is about as tacky as they come hahaha. He might as well have said "I didn't know and I didn't care, I just wanted the fucker dead".

Here's a random tidbit of trivia for you: in my script for this page, the dude holding the President's Naked Daughter hostage is named Evil Business Man.

Placing the over-the-top stuff in films and video games etc is quite a cool solution actually. We're not invested in dude shinobi (not much anyway) so it can be as cheesy as it wants to be and it doesn't distract from the real story. Good call!

Yeah! We're smart.

I shall reward your praise with more trivia. Here are the titles of all six Ninja Exploder movies (though I might end up changing some later):

Ninja Exploder
Ninja Exploder II: Explosion Fist
Ninja Exploder III: Psycho Cyborg
Ninja Exploder IV: The Revenginator
Ninja Exploder V: Dude Goes to College
Ninja Exploder VI: Cult of the Satan Ninja

Haha that Ninja Star joke was gold. I'm guessing someone's watching it at the movies? Or what I suspect on TV being watched by Eddie and Alex?
Also I think so far yous have done a good job of keeping the world consistent.

Thanks, Australian Dude! Yeah, this is the end of the movie Eddie and Alex are watching. The final panel was going to show them watching it, but Jessica thought showing them in the final panel would make it feel like it's supposed to be some kind of punchline that we reveal it's a movie they're watching, which wasn't our intent. So the next page will feature Eddie and Alex.

This page is possibly the greatest thing I’ve ever written. Not sure where to go from here.

There are six movies in Dude Shinobi’s Ninja Exploder series, with the most recent one being Ninja Exploder VI: Cult of the Satan Ninja, which is the movie that inspired the arcade game that Eddie and Joe are playing at the start of the comic. I actually wrote a synopsis for each movie in the series, along with how they were received by fans and critics. I even started writing a script for the first movie, just for fun.

We’ll probably end up showing more scenes from Dude Shinobi movies as part of our monthly bonus comic series for Jessica’s Patreon. Maybe we’ll even use that to eventually tell the complete story of one or more of the movies (the key moments, at least).

One of the challenges of creating this comic is that we want the SN8X-verse to walk a fine line, with one foot planted in wacky over-the-top land and the other foot planted in a land closer to reality. We feel that going too far into Wackyland can cause it to feel like nothing actually matters within the story, making it harder to actually become invested in it. That works fine for something that’s a pure comedy, but we feel that Satan Ninja 198X is a bit more than that. However, with the media within the SN8X-verse (like the Ninja Exploder series), we’re free to go as over-the-top and wacky as we want.

And here's a mega-minor site update for you: I added an entry for the Cowabunga Ninja Gators to the Glossary page.

You mentioned this was a story arc that's besides the main story line before, I guess the whole Mr. Skull drilling that chick's head (hehe) is part of that as well?

All these various plot threads are intertwined, so you'll see them intersect eventually. Kind of like how Issue 1 largely served to set up the events of Issue 2, Issue 3 is setting up a lot of stuff that'll happen in Issue 4. Not to say that nothing substantial is gonna happen in Issue 3. In fact, the latter half of it contains some of my favorite scenes.

328
Damn, just noticed my spelling error in your quote of me, and now it's there forever.

And now anyone reading this in the future will have no idea what you're talking about.

So does this mean that Psycho Sam's vision was totally real?

Sam has been haunted by the skull-masked killer (who he refers to as Mr. Skull) for a long time due to an event from Sam's past. He's also prone to having psychotic episodes, which makes him a very unreliable narrator. But that's not to say everything crazy Sam experiences is all in his head.

How was that for a non-answer?

Also, if you look closely, you can see that Trance is gazing upon the Stagbunny issue he referenced earlier, featuring a girl with a familiar surname.

My first guess was Christian Slater, however that seems like too easy. Then I realized she has the same last name as Dean, so I guess my first guess was correct.

Dean's last name was a homage to Christian Slater, so I suppose that means Debby's last name is as well, by extension.

Corey will never get the hot chicks wearing mom jeans and a purse  :)

Don't you think his rad mullet offsets the rest? Besides, that's a C&C materials carry-bag, not a purse. Surely the ladies would appreciate the difference.
