A lot of the Satan Ninja story has existed in outlined form for nearly a decade, but this sub-plot involving Trance, Corey, and the Dark Dungeon is a relatively new edition. It was woven into the plot a couple years ago.

We hadn’t settled on Kitty Hexovich’s name until just a couple days ago. For a long time, her name in the script was Luna Meow, which I thought was suitably dumb sounding, but Jessica thought it seemed more like a ‘90s name and called to mind a character from Sailor Moon.

I wonder about that myself sometimes, I guess I just switch between the two really quickly..

We envision Trance as the type of extroverted nerd who tends to hit on girls in a semi-joking way, and is completely undeterred by their constant rejections. A little bit like Anthony Michael Hall's character in Sixteen Candles, though I imagine Trance to be a bit less obnoxious.
