mystical ninja cleanliness

But Adam, cleanliness is next to godliness! Eddie should probably be filthy at all times.

I see the artist has no qualms about nudity....! Unless it's to a certain extent...?!?!

While I don't think there's going to be any hardcore labia spreading or anything in this comic, I've already drawn several subtle crotch shots. There was Viper's shadow dong in Issue 1, Space Princess's blue bush in Issue 2 (though it absolutely looks like panties due to her inguinal creases, but it's a bit easier to tell she's "free-buffing" in the hi-res version), and you can totally see Minxy's pubes and pudendal cleft through her transparent underwear in the poster on Eddie's door in Issue 3 (also in Issue 2, but we finally see the poster up close in 3). I also made a Stripped to Kill parody desktop wallpaper featuring Veronica, a bikini version and a totally nude version with pubes, which is available to my patrons on Patreon.

In this page, the President's Naked Daughter's hands are bound, so it just seemed sort of natural for them to hang out in front of crotch-land. Plus, she's terrified and naked, so it also seemed natural for her to feel like covering up as best she could. As for the final shot, I dunno, the director of Ninja Exploder II just didn't want pubes in that particular shot.

Well, since I called in sick today and feel I should at least make an attempt, I made this biological illustration of you profile picture. Complete with annotation..

Hahaha, excellent!

Big aha-moment here about gramps, yes people often come out of a stroke very different from before. She doesn't seem to have any major physical limitations though so I guess she's lucky.

When I'd do my yearly First Aid training as a security guard, my supervisor would always tell us about how her mom had a stroke and suffered horrible short-term memory loss ever after. She would do things like start baking a pie, then start baking another pie because she forgot she was already baking one. Lots of burny cooking accidents, I guess. I couldn't help but think of that with grandma cooking her mac n cheese.

Goddamn Eddie has a couch in his room? Layout aside, his room looks oddly like mine.

Adam I've been getting into vinyl, know any synth-based stuff that translates real well to that?

Jessica do you like Baroness? I know they aren't 80s but them and Royal Blood are pretty much the only harder bands I like. That and Sleep but that's stoner metal as hell.

Also I feel bad making this pun but I suppose you could say that there's.... different strokes for different folks?

I hadn't heard of any of those bands. Just checked out Baroness and Royal Blood and I actually preferred Royal Blood. I liked it. Baroness wasn't bad either, it just didn't hit the spot for me I guess. I haven't heard very much new music in general, but I think my favorite newer stuff (from the past ten years) would be Cancerslug, Municipal Waste, Ghost, and Chromeo.

While I don't remember not seeing this stuff, the changes are great.  Jess you do an excellent job of filling in the background with so much detail I always feel like I'm missing something when I read the pages.  I think a big part of that is that I'm not a true "comic book" reader I tend to have a hard time paying attention to the art sometimes.  I know I'm getting better though especially looking for facial expression and eye glances.  I try to follow the story panel to panel after my initial read through hoping to get a broader prospective of whats happening.

Thanks! Haha, glad you're making an effort to take in my details. The faces are where it's at. And hands. Check those out too. I've wasted too much time drawing hands for people to not stare at each of them for at least several minutes a piece.

I was going to reply to an earlier post but then started reading your nipple comments and completely forgot what I was going to say. That sounds seriously off-putting..

Aw, dangit!

Ever since I went on that first nipple hole rant, I've been on the lookout for real life visible nipple holes/dents. I've actually seen a couple that look like there might be some kind of little divet, but it seems to be very rare. Still not sure what's going on with 'em. There was one girl who looked like she had one in one nipple but not in the other.

Are you referring to inverted nipples?  I've actually read that there is a piece of tissue connecting the nipple to the body keeping it from being "normal"  I believe that there is a surgery that can correct that also.

Nope, but that is interesting. I'm talking about a convex nipple with a small indentation in the center. So probably not from nipple piercing either, since I imagine that's always through the sides.

This probably goes without saying, but let's never make this a picture thread, haha.

Back in 2011 or so, a friend of mine wanted to start doing a "nerdy" podcast with me and another friend of ours. We recorded one episode (we never released it to the public) and he ended up beeping me a few times and it had the same earsplitting problem, except more frequent I think. We ended up having conflicting schedules, so it didn't work out, but I think another factor was that he wanted it to be family friendly, and I thought it was silly to have a podcast that censored itself. I get why someone would want to do that, especially if they're part of some larger network of podcasts. But dangit, I wanted to talk about stuff like, "Why is it so common for hentai artists to draw nipples that look like little volcanoes with gaping holes in them?? Are there girls in real life with nipples like that? Are these artists assuming that milk ejaculates out of a single opening, like how dicks work, except to satisfy hungry babies instead of horny babes-who-want-to-have-babies? Gah, I've even seen stuff where girls get fucked in their weird nipple holes. I just don't get it!"

Ok I've looked at my share of drawn erotica. Seen some weird shit. But like—
What
What even do you mean
Fucked in the nipples
Also I can never again look at hentai without at least giving the nipples a second look now.
Also if you read hentai when not "in the mood" so to speak it's the funniest thing ever. Usually.

Haha, it's true that I wanted to rant about hentai nipple hole confusion in the 2011 podcast pilot, but I don't think I'd even seen the fucked-in-the-nipple thing yet. It was probably just some image I saw while browsing deviantArt or Google Image Search results, or something someone showed me. But I definitely saw it.

I only ever view porn for humor, drawn and live action alike. Not that I don't think any of it is hot! I guess I just feel too awkward about thinking it's hot to enjoy it in any way other than for laughs with friends. I was surprised to learn recently that some huge percentage of girls my age get off to porn these days, so apparently I'm an odd one.

What's your...
Favorite character?
Favorite page/scene?
And how did you discover the comic in the first place?

First off, thanks for fixing my previous quotes!

Favorite character: Ok see I like them all so this is tough for me. I can relate to the awkwardness of Eddie at the party (I was pretty weird/awkward at 14. I've toned it down to charming quirks by now) so there's that. My pick for the coolest character is tough but Ket and Viper lose out to Psycho Sam for me for reasons of skateboarding (skating high is hard man). Runner ups after those 3 are (in no order): Alex, Trance, Frost (that goth-ified Top Gun look tho). Overall best is nigh impossible, ask me again after more story happens.

Favorite page: Anything with Psycho Sam is gold but that panel with him and the dummy is platinum.

I'm pretty sure you posted it on Reddit and I went down the rabbit hole to here!

Also I'm pretty indecisive so I like pretty much everything in the comic but it's hard for me to pick stuff like this (which is pretty easy to tell. I'm not great at restaurants)
Incidentally, my younger brother is named Sam so maybe I feel a connection there too.

Ninja!Edit: I just looked at that trick sam's doing again and that boneless is sick as hell. I just got that trick (I'm new to the skate scene) and damn that's impressive forward momentum and height. I'm not sure what trick Eddie is doin in the montage but it's also pretty cool. What's up with Sam's board though? Do they have purple grip tape?

This sounds like just the indecisive-but-still-trying type of answer I'd give someone. I appreciate it.

Weird/awkward at 14? Adam and I are wondering just how young you are now.

I don't know much about skateboarding. My younger brother was really into it in his early adolescence (probably starting around the time of the first Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game), so I overheard some jargon here and there. Adam had me look at a scene or two from Gleaming the Cube a long time ago, which I still haven't seen in its entirety. More recently, I had us watch Thrashin' because it looked stupid (in a good way) and I thought it might help me with my 80s skateboarding ignorance. Plus it starred Josh Brolin, and I always thought he was hot in The Goonies.

Adam, you said I could do this, so I've decided I'm going to resurrect damned threads from the dead to guess their references.

OK, so the title of the arcade game looks to be a mash-up of Double Dragon and Bad Dudes Vs. DragonNinja, as do the characters, as they're both wearing singlets, one black but the other red, along with bandanas. The gameplay looks as though it's from the arcade Ninja Gaiden while the background looks as though it's from Castlevania. The werewolf in the corner has the outline of TeenWolf while it's clothes are that of Back To The Future, so Michael J. Fox 1985. How good did I do?

Double Dragon and Bad Dudes, check. Don't remember if I took from Ninja Gaiden for this page, but I was probably looking at it, among a ton of other arcade games. Castlevania was an influence on the background. The were-creature is actually one of the most direct, mostly unaltered nods to a single thing (besides the fact that it's basically a pixel version of the thing), and actually has nothing to do with Teen Wolf/Michael J. Fox.

Preacher was great. I really hope the show doesn't suck. I feel so hesitant to watch adaptations of stuff I like. There are so many bad ones.

Jessica I'm continually amazed by your work on facial expressions. Alex's faces in this page are wondrous, particularly the one in the wide shot.
You're sure right about that. Her expression is perfect. Speaking of Alex, any clues on who she's influenced by? She's a major character and I have no idea.
Damn (I keep saying that a lot don't I) Grandma can be really blunt and harsh. Also the picture of the pig in the background. Past beloved pet?

Thanks, guys! Her face in the wide shot turned out to be my favorite too.

I haven't noticed too much damn-age, Matty. I probably say "God dammit" a hundred times a day in my nasally, strained Michigan accent.

Love the pig-ture in the background as well, especially as it's clearly not Snacky. She's definitely blunt and rude but at least she's the same to everyone..

Maybe it's just gran's version of banter? I'll call it granter from now on..

I think we just wanted grandma to have a thing for pigs. If I weren't such a slow-ass when it comes to drawing, I probably would've put way more knick-knacky pig-themed decorations all over the place.

"Granter," haha. I like it.

I think the Satan Ninja outfit worked out really well. I also wondered why Jessica enjoyed wearing that workout stuff so much to conventions but I have a confession to make (this sounds juicier than it is), I wear a lot of lycra when rowing and that stuff is actually really comfy!

Heh, I don't think Jessica wore it for comfort, since I can't imagine a thong-style anything being all that comfortable.

That's what I thought about lycra too. I wouldn't go so far as to wear thongs though..

Sitting for long periods of time at conventions in that leotard was really uncomfortable. It felt like it wanted to split me in half the long way. But standing and being active in it felt totally fine, so I mostly did that. It's pretty handy having wears that matched my wares at conventions, and looking like a fun weirdo helps draw attention to the table and gives people something to talk about from the get-go (in addition to the wacky title of the comic itself).

I have been trolling this forum for a little bit. I have tried a few times to join but the whole activation to email thing wasn't working so I gave up for a bit and today decided to try again and it worked! So, I am the guy that forced Adam and Jessica to talk "family friendly" on their first podcast. I love the feedback on the interview that you have given to both of them. I am curious as the host, how did I do? FYI, media group I belong to has the family friendly policy I just have to play by the rules and basically try to avoid the infamous "explicit" warning.

I come in and check for new pages every couple of weeks and love what I see. I took a screen cap of Shade from one of the most recent pages and tweeted about loving how she looked. Jessica quickly called me out on twitter based on my comment of liking "girl next door" type.  ;)

Nice to be in the forum officially now.

Heh heh, we'll see about that whole "girl next door" thing.

Hey! Nice to see you here, Dave. Though that's sort of distressing that you had such a hard time signing up for the forums. Now I'm going to lie awake at night pondering the legions of Satan Ninja fans that have tried to join our community here and were unable. If only they were all as tenacious as you.

I actually have a suggestion. If you ever use the censor "beep" again, turn that fucker way down next time.

I agree with Adam about the beep thing. Slightly eardrum-explodingly loud. A couple of my friends gave me the same feedback regarding the beep.

Anyway, I thought it was a joy to be on your podcast. You were really easy to talk to, even though I couldn't talk about horrible things! :)
