Hiatus Continues - Updating Issue 2 & River City

As we prepare for our next convention appearance (at Anime Midwest in Chicago, 4th of July weekend--you should totally come say hi if you'll be in the area), we're now getting Issue 2 ready for print. Jessica's currently going through it and updating the pages that were either rushed out in the first place, or need to be updated due to us finalizing the designs of Eddie and Alex's houses (which ended up being very different from what Jessica drew before).

The cafeteria scene that opens Issue 2 has now been updated on this site. Here are some comparison shots so you can see how it evolved (there are some NSFW tits [my favorite kind!], so I'll put the images after the break).

Way better. Better face, better tits, and her skin and hair color aren't so yellow.

Originally, the cafeteria pages had almost no backgrounds, with most panels featuring the characters in a featureless beige void. Now, Jessica added backgrounds to all the larger panels, and at least a gradient to the close-up shots. Here's a comparison:

You can see that adding simple backgrounds, or even just a gradient, makes a pretty huge difference. Here's the before and after of page 3:

If you look close, you can also see Jessica made a few minor adjustments to the characters in some of the panels.

Issue 1 is all done being revamped and the updated images are all up on this site. There's one notable change that was made to it since I last posted. The River City skyline on page 8 has been totally redrawn. Here's the before and after:

We wanted to change this panel to increase the presence of the SlateCorp Headquarters (the building with the slanted roof), since SlateCorp plays a large role in the story and we wanted to foreshadow that. You can also see that we added a pyramid building, which is SlateCorp's Robotics Development Center. Slatecorp is a shady corporation that was founded by Dean's dad, Michael Slater.

The rest of Issue 2's pages should be updated on this site within the next couple weeks.
